With the countdown to the European Parliament elections well and truly underway, the European Environment Bureau has turned the spotlight on important legislative action taken by MEPs to better protect the environment.

In its article entitled ‘5 times the European Parliament was at the top of its game’ the EEB – a network of over 143 environmental citizens’ organisations based in more than 30 countries – drew attention to the following five decisions:

  • November 2015: Opposing dangerous chemicals
  • December 2015: Pushing for energy saving measures
  • March 2018: Standing up for precious bees
  • November 2018: Voting for more climate action
  • January 2019: No more electric pulse fishing in the EU
