Bird Life Cyprus is asking candidate MEPs to commit to protect nature if elected to the new European Parliament on May 26.
In their declaration #IvoteNature, the NGO said it wanted to raise public awareness about the importance of the EU in nature protection and to draw their attention to the forthcoming elections, ensuring that the environment remains an issue for discussion among candidates while encouraging voters to elect candidates who share the same values.
As a partner of BirdLife International, the NGO promotes vision of the parent organisation for the European Parliament 2019-2024, stressing the important role it can play in protecting nature in Europe, particularly in protecting eco-system, the sea and sustainable agriculture and tackling climate change.
BirdLife Cyprus has sent its declaration to candidates asking them to commit to work for nature protection by signing it.
